In July 2024, we held our first market stall collecting electrical and electronic pieces which were ‘too good to throw away’. Working with Waste Savvy Staffs, we aimed to direct these items to where they could do most good for local people.

The response has been amazing. The wonderful people of Kinver told us time and again how they hated throwing away usable items, when someone else might need them. After each market, we’ve taken overflowing carloads to be donated, fixed, or stripped for parts. Almost everything donated has found a use that’s better than just putting it in general recycling.    

We now also collect redundant mobility aids – crutches, commodes, anything small enough to carry, if the original provider won’t take it back. The organisation Grace Cares refurbishes them for donation or sale – if you need mobility aids, check out their website for low-priced options. 

Waste Savvy Staffs are constantly developing new projects to make sure anything usable is given a new life to help those in need.
